Snowflakes, Snowflakes

Here is the link to the weekly song. We haven't had any real winter weather yet, but that is the theme in class for the week. This song is slower than songs we usually do. The song also has repetition which makes it easier for the students to learn.

Weekly Songs

There is a different song on the class newsletter each week. The song usually has to do with the topic we are learning about. We sing this song all week in class. I try to include the tune of the song on the newsletter so you can sing the song at home with your child. I know it can be hard to put the lyrics with the tune, so I was given the idea to post a video of the song each week. This way, if you want to sing the song with your child, you have an idea of the tune and the movements we do.

Selmi's Field Trip

We were so lucky to have beautiful weather for our field trip! Thank you to all the adults that joined the students. The kiddos were so excited about going and I heard all kinds of fun things about the day. We talked about our favorite part of the trip. I heard feeding the animals, the bounce house, and getting a pumpkin the most. Here are some pictures from the group I was with. I will post the pictures from Mrs. Schultz's group on Facebook.

Parent Workshop

I just wanted to put up a reminder about the upcoming workshop the school counselor, Mrs. Abbott, will be doing on Thursday, January 26th. The workshop topic is Parenting the Strong Willed Child. Mrs. Abbott will share some very easy tips and techniques to use with the children in your life. You may not be seeing a need for these techniques at the moment, but this information is great to have in your "toolbox" for the future.

Please be sure to return the slip if you are attending by Wednesday, January 25th!
